E.O.S (End of sentence)
Hello Family,
So over these past months, we have had some of our students released back into our community. And praise be to God they have all been excelling, despite what hurdles life has thrown at them.
However, it has been an eye opening experience for all of us involved, to see what a tremendous lift it is to provide just the basics of life that we all take for granted. Some of these men literally have nothing, not even clothing to wear out of the institution. Granted these men put themselves in this situation, “As I once did” due to their own decisions. However we are not looking for hand outs, we are looking to give these individuals a hand up. Life is all about second, third or even fourth chances. When we are speaking to individuals whom inquire about serving with our mission.
I simply state, just treat these men like they are your neighbors, for in fact they are.
List of Needs
Clothing: Shirts, Shoes, Boots, Pants, Socks, underwear, tank top. (Even to just initially wear out of the prison as nothing is provided)
Communication: Used or new cell phones, Tablets, Laptops, phone company gift cards…
Hygiene Items: Deodorant, Soap, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, floss, shampoo, shaving equipment, hair brush, cosmetics bag
Transportation: Bicycles, Scooters, Bus Passes, Uber gift cards, Used Cars and Motorcycles, Gas Cards
Food: Publix gift cards, ETC….
Housing: We are presently teaming with other community partners to provide housing. However that does not mean these places are free. Any sponsorship financially to keep a roof over a man’s head initially, is crucial to the road map of success. Presently about 30% of our students need housing upon release.
Thank you!
